Job Description
The Greater Nashville Regional Council (GNRC) is seeking an experienced manager to lead its newly formed Department of Transportation and Infrastructure. The Department works alongside other GNRC teams to prepare regional plans for transportation, solid waste, economic development, environmental quality, and a growing list of additional priorities. At the local level, GNRC provides planning, research and analytics, grant writing, and grant administration services to municipal and county governments on a fee-for-service basis.
The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure leads in the development of plans and programs for the Nashville Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and has been tasked with piloting a quick-build program to deliver small-scale transportation improvements on behalf of local governments. The ideal candidate will have experience in transportation planning or engineering within a state DOT, regional planning organization, transit agency, or local government setting and possess working knowledge of federal metropolitan planning requirements.
