The Capital Area MPO recently adopted a new strategic plan to help guide our region’s transportation program through the next several years. CAMPO is expanding staff to implement the new strategic plan. The Triangle region continues to experience unprecedented growth, producing a need for infrastructure improvements that offers a range of travel choices and are compatible with the character and development of our communities, sensitive to the environment, improve quality of life, and are safe and accessible for all. The Capital Area MPO works at the heart of identifying, planning, and implementing those improvements and this position represents an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated and creative individual to develop and administer a world-class regional mobility management program. In addition to the new strategic plan, the MPO also recently adopted a Mobility Management Implementation Study, which resulted in the creation of this position. The primary focus for the first year of this position will be to work with the MPO leadership and Mobility Coordination Committee to implement the goals and strategies identified in the Mobility Management Implementation Study.
The position will also provide input into the ongoing update to the region’s Locally Coordinated Human Services – Public Transit Plan and will provide input to NCDOT and regional transit partners for project development activities for various TIP and transit projects in the region.
