Under general supervision, the Engagement Specialist for Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) provides assistance in developing and implementing public involvement strategies, to meet local, state, and federal public involvement requirements, including Environmental Justice and Title VI, for the Waco Metropolitan Planning Organization. The incumbent plans, organizes, integrates, and executes assigned marketing, public involvement, or community outreach, assists in the writing production of a wide variety of marketing and public involvement materials, serves as a liaison with external and internal transportation stakeholders, and assists in routine office operations. In addition, the position holder functions as the primary meeting coordinator for the MPO’s Boards and Committees, and functions as both Spanish Translator and Interpreter of the organization.

Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, Journalism, English, Spanish, or related field
One year of experience in marketing, public information, communications, or community outreach
OR an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
Bilingual in English/Spanish is required; able to speak, read and write English and Spanish fluently
Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License
