Stephenville’s City Planner is responsible for managing planning and development projects, which include research, analysis, preparing plans, reports, studies, and presentation of data. This position performs technical planning duties requiring detailed examination as well as excellent writing, organizational, and presentation skills. The City Planner works under the general guidance and direction of the Director of Development Services and does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in civil planning, urban planning, urban development, public administration, geography, architecture, or a related field. The selected candidate must have three to five years of professional planning experience in municipal government, significant experience in plan/plat review, zoning administration, and building code experience, and advanced knowledge of GIS. An American Institute of Certified Planner (AICP) certification is preferred. A combination of related education, experience, certifications, and licenses may be reviewed and considered.
The salary range for this position is $52,000 – $60,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
