The Transportation Department of the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) is seeking a Transportation Planner in the Sustainable Development program within the Metropolitan Planning Organization. This position will support regional planning, and implementation of land uses coordinated with multimodal transportation to increase walking, biking, and transit in the growing Dallas–Fort Worth (DFW) region. Specific projects areas include: mapping and data analysis to support plans and studies using Geographic Information Systems (GIS), creating/maintaining regional GIS datasets, developing guidance documents and recommendations related to a wide range of transportation/land-use planning topics; supporting benefit-cost analysis, supporting transit-oriented development planning, grant writing, and assisting with regional/corridor/area plans to advance multimodal transportation coordinated with land development. The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) is a voluntary association of, by and for local governments, and was established to assist local governments in planning for common needs, cooperating for mutual benefit, and coordinating for sound regional development. NCTCOG also serves as a designated recipient for Federal Transit Administration funds.
