Mission
The Association of Metropolitan Planning Organizations (AMPO) established the PBPP Working Group in 2014 with support from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). The working group objectives include providing a forum for transportation planners to exchange information, share effective practices as well as planning challenges, and learn about federal initiatives, rules, and guidance.
The AMPO PBPP Working Group will hold five meetings between December 2018 and June 2020. The meetings will cover the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act (MAP-21) and Fixing America’s Surface Transportation (FAST) Act performance measures on safety, bridge and pavement condition, system performance, freight, CMAQ, and transit asset management. Four white papers will be developed based on the meetings and could highlight case studies, notable practices, challenges, and recommendations. They will be a resource to the MPO community.
