RFP Description
As the custodian of the Piedmont Triad Regional Model (PTRM), the Piedmont Authority for Regional Transportation (PART) is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the regional travel demand model in partnership with the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) and the four Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) in the Triad region. To maintain the validity and effectiveness of the PTRM, it is essential to conduct enhancement activities to ensure quality data inputs to the regional travel demand model.
PART is issuing this solicitation for a consultant-led Transit On-Board Survey for enhancements to the PTRM. The survey shall be designed to collect sufficient information to establish linked transit trips, including trip origin and destination, access and egress modes, transit routes and transfers, trip purpose, auto availability, and relevant socioeconomic characteristics. The selected consultant will lead all tasks of the survey, including but not limited to project management, quality control, survey design and development, administration and data collection, processing, and reporting. The consultant will ensure survey outputs are suitable for calibration and validation of the PTRM and the Federal Transit Administration’s (FTA) Simplified Trips-on-Project Software (STOPS) Model.
This project involves conducting a comprehensive, consultant-led transit on-board survey across six regional transit providers to enhance validity, capture user demographics, trip origins/destinations, and travel behaviors for the regional travel demand model.
