Safe Routes to School Coordinator

This is a responsible and complex professional planning, three-year, contract position. The purpose of this position is to launch the County’s Safe Routes to School Program in partnership with relevant stakeholder agencies such as Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS), the Police, the Department of Public Works, etc. The goal is to formally ally AACPS with the County and relevant stakeholders to educate school site administrators, parents, and students about pedestrian and bicycle safety; build multigenerational pedestrian and cyclist awareness; and mitigate traffic concerns by promoting a comprehensive, proactive behavior and infrastructure-based approach to securing safety along school routes and within school sites.
