Director of Transportation Planning
The Lehigh Valley Planning Commission (LVPC), the official regional planning agency for Lehigh and Northampton Counties, seeks a collaborative and innovative leader to serve as Director of Transportation Planning.
Based in Allentown, the Director will oversee the LVPC’s metropolitan transportation planning program, managing a team to advance multimodal infrastructure goals, ensure compliance with federal and state requirements, and coordinate with local governments, regional partners, and the public. Key initiatives include long-range transportation planning, safety and congestion management, equity and climate resilience, and multimodal accessibility improvements.
Qualifications: Degree in urban, regional, or transportation planning, engineering, or related field; eight or more years of relevant experience. Master’s degree and professional certification (AICP, PE, or related) preferred. Valid driver’s license required.
Salary: $145,000+ (depending on experience), with excellent benefits including paid time off, health and dental coverage, and retirement plans.
