The Metropolitan Council is the regional planning agency for the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area providing essential services to our region: transportation, wastewater collection and treatment, growth and development of local communities, affordable housing programs, and regional park systems.
This position is eligible for hybrid (remote and onsite) teleworking.
The Data Scientist working in the Council’s Metropolitan Transportation Services division will support multi-modal transportation planning in the metro area through innovative approaches to collecting and analyzing transportation data and the development and application of cutting-edge travel forecasting models and analysis tools. Will join a vibrant travel research and modeling team working on travel demand forecasting, travel behavior surveys, and creative analysis of all kinds of transportation data to drive planning and policy analysis.
Minimum Requirements:
Any of the following combinations in completed education (degree field of study in Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, or related field) and experience (in statistical and/or machine modeling and/or developing web-based interactive data visualization tools):
- High school diploma/GED with seven years of experience
- Associate degree with five years of experience
- Bachelor’s degree with three years of experience
- Master’s degree with one year of experience
Salary Range: $81,973.00 – $132,933.00 Annually
